Project update, September 2022

1 September 2022

We're working hard behind the scenes to create this unique project and we we're keen to share with you the work we're doing, what happens next - and how you can get involved.

What we're doing

While we've hit the ground running, the caretaker period in the lead up to the Federal Election meant that some of our engagements with the department slowed down a little. We didn't let that deter us from our crucial work further developing this best practice model of continence care.

We spoke publicly about our Model of Continence Care for the first time at our National Conference on Incontinence in May, where Prof Joan Ostaszkiewicz from the National Ageing Research Institute, Bronwyn Robinson and Matt Clear from the Foundation discussed the research phase, the way we have interpreted and embraced the model and the way we plan on testing, piloting, and the implementation elements. We also had a booth at the conference and had a lot of very positive enquiries.

Watch our video with Prof Ostaszkiewicz discussing the research.

We've also been developing a suite of resources that explain what the model is and how it can help those working with those experiencing incontinence.

What happens next

As we move towards the testing phase, we are liaising with a range of bodies to ensure we are in a good position to start testing and piloting the model. From there, we'll move to a launch.

Watch this space for updates as they happen. If you would like to be more actively involved, see timelines, vote in polls and order resources, simply return to the main Your Voice page.

Get involved

If you would like to order some DL size postcards, just go back to the Your Voice main page and fill out the form.

The postcards describe the Model of Continence Care and feature a QR code which takes the reader to our landing page where they can find out more information and download resources.
